Failure is a Prerequisite for Success

I’ve never met a successful leader who doesn’t have a list of failures a mile long—myself included. I was fired from my first job after working there for 10 years; I shuttered a mindset business after three years of financial losses; I’ve been rejected by more CEOs in the last 20 years than I’d care to count. But I’ve never given up.
One of my coaching colleagues recently said, “Anyone who’s traveled any sort of distance has experienced failure.” And though it can be incredibly painful, it’s a critical part of the path to success.
If you think about it, everything you ever learned to do included failure.
